    League of Legends: LCS Week 3 Power Rankings

    The opening week of the 2023 LCS left us all scratching our heads. Team Liquid was 0-2, TSM and CLG were 2-0, and Evil Geniuses looked off. Nothing made sense, which to be fair, is not uncommon of esports and especially of pro League of Legends. Week two, on the other hand, offered something of a correction as things shifted back towards what we expected them to be in our preseason predictions. 

    LCS 2023 Week 3 Power Rankings

    As we now turn our eyes towards Week 3 in the LCS, here's our rankings from best to worst in North America.

    1. FlyQuest (4-0)

    Cloud9 talked a lot of trash as this match approached, but FlyQuest just continued to roll. Any speculation that this roster would need to time to gel was crushed, and they have firmly planted themselves as the favorite to win it all this season. 

    2. Evil Geniuses (3-1)

    They were our preseason choice for the best team in the LCS, and they still may be. After a tough 1-1 start in week one, they powered out two wins this week and looked more like the team they were expected to be.

    3. Cloud9 (3-1)

    They've only lost to FlyQuest, which is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Fudge might be the best single player in the LCS this season. 

    4. 100 Thieves (3-1)

    The combined record of teams they've beaten is 3-9, so they're going to have to do more to convince me they belong in the same echelon as C9, FlyQuest, and EG. 

    5. Team Liquid (2-2)

    This looked more like the Team Liquid we expected to see. That said, the combined record of teams they've beaten is 0-8, so these are games you should win. They'll have a chance to prove it's real against 100 Thieves next week.

    6. CLG (2-2)

    CLG can be forgiven for getting demolished by C9, after all, a lot of teams are going to be this year. But if you want to be taken seriously, you need to get that bounce back win against Immortals. They didn't.

    7. TSM (2-2)

    TSM was our 10th ranked team in the preseason, so a 2-0 start was quite the surprise out of them. But reality came knocking this week as they lost to 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses. 

    8. Golden Guardians (0-4)

    If there was an award for spirit, Golden Guardians would certainly take it. Despite their record, they've played teams surprisingly tough this season. 

    9. Immortals (1-3)

    Immortals got on the board this week with a win over CLG, but they've got a long way to go to prove they're turning it around.

    10. Team Dignitas (0-4)

    When "Should have beaten TSM in their first game of the season" is your highlight achievement, you know things are bad.

    Week 3 League of Legends LCS Schedule

    Thursday, February 9th

    TSM (2-2) vs. Cloud9 (3-1) - 5 pm EST

    FlyQuest (4-0) vs. Evil Geniuses (3-1) - 6 pm EST 

    Team Liquid (2-2) vs. 100 Thieves (3-1) - 7 pm EST

    CLG (2-2) vs. Golden Guardians (0-4) - 8 pm EST

    Immortals (1-3) vs. Team Dignitas (0-4) - 9 pm EST

    Friday, February 10th

    FlyQuest (4-0) vs. 100 Thieves (3-1) - 5 pm EST

    TSM (2-2) vs. CLG (2-2) - 6 pm EST

    Evil Geniuses (3-1) vs. Cloud9 (3-1) - 7 pm EST

    Team Dignitas (0-4) vs. Team Liquid (2-2) - 8 pm EST

    Immortals (1-3) vs. Golden Guardians (0-4) - 9 pm EST

    Match of the Week - FlyQuest vs. Evil Geniuses

    Without a doubt, the most anticipated match of the third week of the LCS 2023 Spring Split will be undefeated FlyQuest taking on Evil Geniuses. EG was chosen by many, including us, as the frontrunner for North America. However, many also chose FlyQuest as the second best team in the league. 

    There'll be a lot of interesting storylines to keep an eye on in this game. Prince vs. FBI in the bottom lane could be the beginning of a storied rivalry. Spica vs. Inspired should be fascinating to watch, but my eyes will be on Jojopyun and Vicla in the mid lane.
